છું હું  મૂંઝવણમાં , વાંચીને દેશ નો ઈતિહાસ ; કરું  પ્રેમ   સંસ્કૃતિને   કે ઉડવું   એની હાસ ? કરું છું હું વિશ્વાસ , મતિવિહીન ગ્રંથો-વેદ-વાણીમાં; જ્યાં  કપિઓ  આવે  મદદે ને  પથ્થરો તરે પાણીમાં. તો હું ગર્વ પણ કરું છું જ્ઞાનસભર ચરકસંહિતા-આર્યભટ્ટીનો ; મહાન  આ ગ્રંથ  તબીબીશાસ્ત્રનો  ને  ઉલ્લેખ જેમાં શૂન્યનો. કરું  છું  હું  વિશ્વાસ , જ્યાં પવનને પણ હોય સૂત ; ધગધગતા સૂર્યને પણ આરોગવા સમર્થ એવા સપૂત . તો  હું  ગર્વ  પણ  કરું છું બ્રહ્મગુપ્ત , ભાસ્કર , વરાહમિહિરનો ; જેમની સચોટ  ગણતરીઓ ગ્રહણની ને ઉલ્લેખ પૃથ્વીના પથનો. કરું   છું   હું   યાદ   અપમાનો  એકલવ્ય-કરણના ; અનુભવો  કડવાએ , અસમાનતા - જાતિ-વરણના. તો  સ્મૃતિ  પણ કરું  હું ઉજ્જૈન , તક્ષશિલા , નાલંદાની ; આવકારે જે વિશ્વભરને , નીકળ્યા છે જે શોધમાં જ્ઞાનની . ભળી     ગયું   છે   દૂધમાં   પાણી...
